Nutella Whipped Instant Coffee Recipe

You’ve probably already heard about TikTok’s viral instant coffee of 2020: the whipped coffee. But, have you heard about the delicious whipped coffee combo with Nutella? 

This creamy, frothy and nutty drink will easily become your new favorite. The hazelnut taste from the Nutella, combined with the aroma and delicious flavor of Waka's instant coffee is a must try.

The history of whipped coffee

During the COVID-19 lockdown, whipped coffee instantly became one of Google’s top trending recipes in 2020. When the world shut down and people stayed at home, many started using anything they could find at home to bring some joy to their lives. One of the easiest finds was instant coffee! Combined with the fact that coffee shops were closed and people couldn't get their favorite frappe drinks, the desire to unique coffee drinks has risen.

Whipped coffee was actually a common drink in many parts of the world, even before the pandemic. In India and Pakistan, there are many different types of whipped coffee drinks made from instant coffee. Greece is also said to be one of the first countries to invent the frappe. In Korea, it’s referred to as Dalgona coffee.

How to make whipped coffee

Whipped coffee is really simple to make. It’s made from equal parts of coffee, sugar and water (typically 2 tablespoons of each). To make whipped coffee, mix all of the ingredients in a bowl/cup for 3-5 minutes until the mixture forms peaks. You can accomplish it with whisking by hand, use a hand mixer or other methods.

Once the whipped coffee is thick and frothy, add it to a glass filled with milk and ice, then enjoy!

Make Nutella Whipped Instant Coffee

Ingredients:

• 2 tbsp of Waka instant coffee
• 2 tbsp of brown sugar
• 2 tbsp of Nutella
• 2 tbsp of boiling water
• 3/4 cup of milk
• Ice (optional)
• Cocoa powder (optional)

Instructions:

1. Using an electric frother, whisk together equal parts Waka instant coffee, sugar, Nutella, and boiling water.
2. In a cup, pour milk over ice. If you want a hot drink, add warm milk and skip the ice.
3. Pour whipped coffee mixture over the top.
4. Dust with cocoa powder (optional).
5. Enjoy!
